September 24th marks an Historic Day. The Grand Opening of the African American Museum. The historical, factual, sometimes painful, other times glorius. It will have trials and tribulations, triumphs and loss, and adversity and peace.
Yes, our country is facing a time that tests the American in everyone. That effects all Americans. There has been more distrust than embrace. People should remember that is what we are. We all have familaies and we have people that threaten our very way of life, instead of fighting each other, stand together and fight against, evil and those that threaten who we are as an American, than stopping those from living, exisiting, loving, and simply being in America. President Obama and civil rights leaders to opened the much anticpated Smithsonian museum.

If you didn't have timed tickets to get into see the museum yesterday, that was fine. There was plenty of entertainment, from parades, bands, speakers and plenty of food.
There were sites and sounds of love and appreciation that filled the air. All people were welcomed and the weather was not the only blessing. The was peace and kindness in the air too.
Entertainment included "living colour", Howard University's "Showtime" marching band to say the least. Along with speeches of hope and triumph from Oprah Winfrey and Will Smith.
As the world embraces solidarity in times of crises and war, we should take a lesson from yesterdays events. Music, love, fun and happiness brought people together and nothing negative overshadowed the day. Make sure you get your timed tickets. https://nmaahc.si.edu/visit/passes
