Time it is a ticking, and I have to say that I find myself for the first time nervous. Two candidates on either side of the spectrum. I have to say this has been the most comical, sad, inspirational, head scratching and down right scary campaign. From Hillary emails, to Trumps lewd, and racist comments I have been torn on who to vote for. Why though???
We should be trying to understand their platforms:
Hillary: Taxes, Healthcare, Racial Injustice, Americas Infrastructure
Trump: Taxes, Immigration, Americas Infrastructure
Instead we are focusing on why Hillary used her own email address (duh, who doesn't) and why Trump wants to build walls, and stuff.. Regardless of what the trivial rhetoric says about them, but what does this say about us, Americans? I mean sure... its a popularity contest, but what the heck....
What I want and What I think everyone wants:
I want to know that my children will have jobs, healthcare and that someone who doesn't belong here, legally, is not taking both of those things from my child.
I want to know that because a person is black, white, blue or green that there are repercussions for anyone that takes a life.
That, god forbid, that I am disabled there is help for me.
That as a veteran myself, I matter.
That our jobs are not going overseas
That our elderly don't have to work at the local fast food restaurant to make ends meet and live with dignity
That someone is working on cures for diseases and
That our food supply is strong and our farmers are stronger
I will vote, and I will pray for whomever is in office, remembers those things when they are in office. Because when I talk to my children, I want to tell them that I live in a great, just, free America and mean it!!!
